What changes must be reported to Companies House?

You must inform Companies House about any changes related to:

  • the company name,
  • the registered office address,
  • the accounting reference date,
  • PSC (Persons with Significant Control),
  • the share structure,
  • directors – appointing a new director, resignation of a current director, changes to personal details,
  • shareholders – resignation or addition of a new shareholder.

How to report changes to Companies House

To report changes to Companies House regarding your Limited Company, you will need the email address and password used during your initial registration with the Companies House online service. You will also need the authentication code.

If you are using this service for the first time, you will need to register—providing your email address and password, then waiting for Companies House to send you the code.

Updating your information at Companies House is done through a Confirmation Statement. This statement is submitted every 12 months to confirm that your existing company details are accurate. However, if there are changes such as a new director appointment or changes to the registered office address, you can submit a Confirmation Statement earlier to reflect these updates.
